Nice folks planted a wide strip of landscaping with wild strawberry plants as a ground cover. It comes back every spring and presents those in the know with tiny fraises du bois for a good long time. When I first spotted them, I had the courtesy to go into the doctor's office and ask the receptionist if I could pick some of them. "Huh?" she queried, having no idea that there was edible fruit there. "Sure, I guess..." she added, after I explained in more detail.
So, I did. I did it again...and again...and again. Delicious.

they are very cute.
I prefer them fresh and unadorned, unless I have em at the local spring fair, with cream. Yum.
