The pressure on women to be stick thin has gotten out of hand. Jessica looks fine and healthy.
Too many women in entertainment look like they desperately need a hot meal.

she made an extremely poor fashion choice. Those jeans would have made anyone look chunky.

Meanwhile, she *is* an airhead.

44. No, she's really not that bright. When she was about to enter junior high...
...the school district wanted to classify her as learning disabled (My cousin was a teacher at the school she attended). Her parents flipped out and immediately moved her to private school, because they didn't want her branded with that label.

She's always struck me as a very sweet, not-too-bright young woman who's been exploited by everybody around her (including her creepy father).

10. I'm kind of irritated at one magazine cover I saw yesterday - maybe it was People.
It said something like "Everyone (even the president!) is talking about her weight!"

Well, no. The president is not talking about her weight. Anyone who saw the Matt Lauer Obama interview on Super Bowl Sunday could clearly see he was making reference ONLY to the Jessica Simpson headline that was in place of where his face had been on an Obama family portrait.

53. There's a lot of middle ground between low-rise and high-waisted.
The waistbands of my best jeans hit a couple of inches below my belly button. I'm short-waisted, so if I wore high-waisted pants, I'd look like Ed Grimley.

She's gotten her fair share of slack when due.

She'll get her share of sympathy from me as well. Nobody should be cheated on; those who promote doing so are animals.

Not much of an airhead if she made herself a success by being or pretending to be one. Never mind her audiences that wanted more either. Like Obi Wan Kenobi once said, something like "Who is the bigger fool: The leader or those who are willing to be led by the leader." Though no doubt the same phrase was coined centuries earlier by Shakespeare and maybe somebody before him too.

Publicity - what every third-rate celebrity craves more than anything. And she didn't even have to pay for it - just had to wear a plug-ugly pair of jeans. My immediate thought was that she wore them purposely to generate controversy and get those magazine covers. But I'm a cynic at heart.
