Ripping cds - anyone have this issue before... |
|
Some times when I rip cds to my lap top my burner/drive makes a louder than normal whirring sound and then sometimes a cd will rip almost silently. Anyone have a clue why this happens?

My thought is that it is probably due to subtle imbalances in each individual disk. But it's just a theory.

I just ripped a U2 cd and thought my drive was going take off flying through the house and then another cd was so quiet I had to keep checking to making sure it was even ripping.

4. Probably due to differences in the dimensions of the CD |
|
flatter discs tend to spin quieter, while those that are not as flat (warped) to tend to create more noise when they spin.
