What made the 70's in Germany such a fountain of creativity? |
|
The 70's "Krautrock" bands like Neu! and Kraftwerk Filmmakers Vim Wenders and Werner Herzog and then all the post modern art that came out of that time period
It's like West Germany in the 70's was 10 years ahead of the rest of the world in art

1. You call "Autobahn" creative? |
|
Their story has become tiresome.

But I challenge you to find anything like it from before that album
Also, keep in mind the Synthesizers they used weren't the friendly ones you can pick up at Target today - but they required an understanding of sound effects, computers and music.

3. I'd guess it was a form of rebellion |
|
What with the Berlin Wall and stuff coming only a few years earlier. Oppression was attempted, but you can't oppress artistic creativity.

5. True that - and in West Berlin you had a constant reminder |
|
Apparently, the Berlin Wall was hard to miss
