My name is blogslut and I am an orange addict
I love, love, love oranges and have loved them for as long as I can remember. When I was growing up, each Christmas, my father would buy a big box of them. I devoured them almost single handedly. As I was raising blogslut jr, I sacrificed my love of oranges because my little princess didn't like them. But now, she's living in the dorm and I eat least two oranges a day.

This empty nest stage is turning out to be quite interesting.

1. I've found growing up that I actually like apples...
Particularly a good crisp green apple, nothing like 'em.

But my heart belongs to oranges. Although, this latest batch of Cara oranges I got are flavorless and dry. Thank goodness I also bought some early naval oranges. Those are yummy.

PS: My favorite apple used to be Granny Smith until I discovered the Pink Lady.

6. Hey! I'm going to Grad School at UC Riverside, we invented the navel orange!
Lame, I know but we don't have a whole lot to brag about at UCR, it's either oranges or the world's largest Sci-Fi collection.

7. What makes the navel novel, besides the navel?
Seriously. I've always wanted to know? Is it some sort of grows-in-a-certain-climate thing?

9. I don't know for certain.
It may be more resistant to pests or blights.

5. I used to eat so many I would get acid blisters in my mouth
Do you eat them ritualistically like me? I take a section, peel away the outer skin and munch delicately on the little pulps.

8. I kinda got spoiled living in FL... my neighbors had an orange and a grapefruit tree and there
was no way they could ever eat them all before they went bad, so they let us pick as much as we could eat too. :)

11. I don't like them plain, but I don't like them with sugar either.
I usually drizzle just enough honey on there to add a bit of extra flavor and counteract the tartness. :)

12. I'm partial to clementines myself:

Incredibly easy to peel, and much sweeter than the average orange. I could seriously live on these things if I had to.

14. Single handedly? Wow. It's really hard to peel an orange with only one hand.
You must REALLY like oranges. ;)
