4. Um, you DON'T have an external hard drive? |
|
I, uh, really hope you don't have a hard drive failure or anything.
You really, really need to get an external to back up your project.

i have everything on tape though.. of course that wouldn't help with the actual edited project.
i have gobs of disks and SD cards with files for projects on them. i need to get an external hard drive though. i just haven't been able to save up for it yet. the past few months all my money has gone towards college applications etc.

it is great and cheaper.
Link is not working, but it is a really awesome external drive, 1TB of storage, fast firewire interface, and CHEAPER from a reputable seller, I have a bunch of these external drives myself and never once had a problem with them.
www.macsales.com and look at the neptune external firewire drive, 1TB is 134.99, however it may be a good idea to get an external RAID for redundancy or get two of these and use one to backup the other.

8. I know... my 1st PC has a whopping 512 MB hard drive. |
|
OK, that's a lie. My 1st computer was a Vic 20 with a cassette tape drive and 5KB of RAM.

15. Mmm, the 20. Remind me please: |

Did the 1541 floppy drive work with the 20, or was it only the 64?

16. Wow! That much RAM? *bounce*... |
|
... my Sinclair ZX81 had 1024 bytes as standard. I just HAD to opt for the 16K Rampack.
Oh and the resolution! We could control the pixels: 80x44 IIRC, but we had a choice of black or white. It came with an optional printer: resembles today's cash register receipts but the paper was more silvery. Plus the keyboard... well there were no keys, it was a wonderful membrane keypad. The good thing was its size: it was about the size of my mousemat and as thick as a smalltown Yellow Pages.
Mark.

I saw a 500 gig for about 90 bucks, and a terrabyte drive for about 190 or so....
