21. Actually I do a pretty good Gollum voice. |
|
It's pretty much the same as doing Stitch from Lilo and Stitch... the only difference is that Stitch yells whereas Gollum screams. Subtle difference for a normal voice, but when doing that voice it makes a big difference. :)
That, and Gollum, when not screaming, tends to whine a lot.

From about 8-12th grade I read the trilogy at least once a year. Once I went off to college I didn't have the time... so I only read them a couple times. And I never bought the movies when they first came out on DVD, I waited for the extended editions. :P

49. The sad part is that I'm not exaggerating AT ALL. |
|
I know someone who actually managed to figure out a way to compress all her requirements into 4 years(easier for her than some of us because she was a wind player, so she could do orchestra and/or band and/or wind ensemble to fulfill her requirements, whereas we string players only had orchestra), and when she mentioned that to the head of the music department he laughed. Because he thought she was joking.

52. Courseload combined with the fact that courses were only offered at certain times. |
|
In a nutshell, the only way they could foist the courseload they wanted us to do on us was to make the music classes all only 1 (with two exceptions... Music Theory was 2 credit hours, and another required class was 0. So it balanced out.) credit hour. No matter how many hours they actually were. And they were scattered throughout the day, interfereing with any attempts to take required gen ed classes. I never signed up for more than 13 credit hours all four semesters I was a full-time music major. And yet I was never in class for less than 20 hours a week.
And we had our concerts on the weekends to boot.
And because required classes were offered only at certain times, 3 out of the five days a week I would have to be on campus from 8 in the morning until 10 at night.

55. Nope. Gen ed was gen ed. |
|
And some of the gen ed was pretty goddamned stupid. But UCF didn't let anyone test out of most of it. I've been programming since I learned BASIC in 3rd grade... and yet I still had to take their ridiculously stupid 'Intro to Computer Science' class. Which is basically "This is a mouse. This is how you click it. This is Microsoft Word. This is how you save a document."
I hadn't managed to fit a single math or science class in the two years I was there full-time and in the music department. Ironic that I got more done when I was doing 6 credit hours every other semester than I did when I was doing 12-13 every semester.

I have a buyer's wariness about silver jewelry, however. At $119 I would like to know how heavy it is. I am hard on jewelry and have a lot of trouble finding stuff heavy enough to stand up to the abuse. Not sure what silver is going for at the moment, but I would want it to weigh at least a couple, three or four ounces.
