Baby-faced Alfie, who is 13 but looks more like eight, became a father four days ago when his girlfriend Chantelle Steadman gave birth to 7lb 3oz Maisie Roxanne. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2233878.ece

1. He does look 8 and the mom looks 20 |
|
Weird. Best of luck to them. They're gonna have a rough life. Good thing England has better social services than the US.

4. You're right. She's twice his size. |
|
:wow:
Obviously, she has hit her puberty growth spurt already and he hasn't.

2. "this...shows the policy of value-free sex education just isn’t working.” |
|
:wtf:
It seems to me the problem is that they didn't have ANY sex education. They just had sex without having any clue what they were doing or what might happen. They clearly didn't know anything about birth control.
That woman from the "anti-abortion Christian charity LIFE" should STFU when she clearly don't know what she's talking about. x(
I wish all three of those kids well. I hope the two families can support all of them and raise them well. It sounds like they're pulling together and managing. But the fact that the 13 year old by, the father, is spending nights at girlfriend's house is kind of disturbing. They may have another child on the way soon if they keep that up.

5. I like how the grandfather is going to have a talk with his son about sex |
|
At some point in the future, "so there isn't another baby." Um, NOW would be a good time.

6. Seriously. The boys is sleeping at his girlfriend's house, |
|
presumably with his girlfriend. He already has one child with her and he's likely to have another one soon at this rate. That talk is past due. :dunce:

16. I doubt they've figured out birth control |
|
sexually transmitted diseases, relationship issues, their own physiology, each other's physiology, what society expect regarding sex and gender and sexuality, what the law expects, what the schools expect, etc.
People obviously get buy without ever going over any of it. But it would be nice if their parents went over at least some of this stuff, and more. There are entire college courses designed around what parents should have taught their kids.

8. Yep. The problem is that peoples' "values" keep them from talking |
|
about sex early enough with their kids. I know LyricKid is gonna have all the details and warnings and info that I can give him as soon as he turns 10.

12. You and me both. Frankly, I find the obsession |
|
with "purity" to be creepy as fuck, especially the Dads who have their daughters "pledge" their virginity to Daddy with a ring. What kind of sicko is THAT intimately concerned with his daughter's hymen? Just...ick.

11. Which kid? For having sex? |
|
The article doesn't make it sound like they've got any special talents or skills. they just had sex. Once. And they clearly didn't know much about what they were doing.
They still don't know what they're doing. They're just hoping their parents can help them enough to get them by. It's the parents who better be prodigies. :(
