1. I love being around progressives. The faculty of my school could barely contain their glee

when Barack Obama was elected. They even cancelled classes the morning of Inauguration Day, so we students could attend I.D. gatherings and parties. There are a few right-wingers among the students; interestingly, most of them are Iraq War vets. (I'm sure their support is just because they had their asses on the line over there, and want to believe it was for a worthy cause; I can respect that, even if I disagree.) They seem to be dealing fairly well. They had their eight years, and they can take a seat for the next eight, AFAIC.

2. If they were truly progressive, they wouldn't cave to the commercial industry that promotes

a false sense of intimacy with overpriced flowers and candy and teddy bears that no one really wants.

On the other hand, the economy needs all the fuel it can get. Carry on! :D
