Help! There is a carrot thief in my house!
Edited on Sat Feb-14-09 01:04 PM by Jamastiene
Either that...

or

I cannot be trusted with my roast...particularly with the cooked carrots.

I just took the roast back out of the fridge to add the potatoes and finish getting this meal ready.

I put 4 pounds of carrots in with that roast last night. They came almost to the top of the stoneware. Now, they only come to just above the halfway point, leaving lots more room for the potatoes.*

Some carrot thief came in and stole about a pound and a half of carrots while I was reading my shiny new Stephen King book last night. I saw the bowl right beside the couch. I slept on the couch last night.

I only taste tested the carrots a little. Series!!1!(elevens)!!

* My plan worked. I cannot be trusted alone with the carrots when I cook a roast. I "taste test" them to high heaven. I LOVE those carrots**. Normally, by the time my roast gets finished cooking, there are not enough carrots left. This time, I purposely added extra carrots to offset my "taste testing." The plan WORKED!!!

**I have a bottomless pit when it comes to cooked carrots.

6. Yes, according to a guy I worked with.
He worked for a company that made powdered beta carotene.

He said beta carotene is fat soluble, and the workers had to wear tyvek suits, gloves, boots, and duct tape all stray openings tightly or else the powder would be absorbed through the skin and they would turn orange as a carrot.

7. Yep.
Other than that though, it's harmless. Also, carrots are one of the few veggies that have more vitamins cooked than raw. Bonus! :woohoo:
