Cat nicknames: got any good ones?
The s.o. started calling Socrates "Huge Jackman" after Socks weighed in at 25lbs at the vet. Before that, Socks was occasionally referred to as "Ears McMittens".

Neutrino acquired the nick "Sister Mary Asgard" earlier this week. Yes, we're Stargate SG-1 weenies.

How about your cats?

6. Well, our newest female is named Missy
which quickly became 'Missy, Queen Of All She Surveys' because she believes that everything in the house belongs to Her Royal Highness.

Daughter's jewelry? Missy steals it. We've found necklaces in the water dish.

Son's car keys? She grabs them and runs.

I can't leave a pen or paper clip laying around for a second, she steals them when I'm not looking.

I occassionally call mine "Shithead" when she overturns a glass of
water or whatever I'm drinking. She can't just look in the glass to see what's in it, she must grab the rim with her claws and pull it over. Then she has to jump around and do that crazy dance because she got her feet wet.

I have learned to only drink from covered containers.

One of the strays wormed his way onto our sun porch and we let him sleep there on cold nights - of course he has food/water/litter box. The dog always comes on to the porch to eat the cat's food and the cat sneaks into the house to eat the dogs food.

Leon--prescription Purina UR:st/ox for lower urinary tract disease

Shamu--Purina Pro-Plan Weight Management or Healthy Weight or whatever (the vet told me he HAD to lose weight a year ago, and said I could go with the prescription stuff or this, which are basically the same. The Pro-Plan is cheaper!).

Sophia--Wysong Vitality, the ONLY food she's able to keep down since she had pancreatitis two years ago. The slightest nibble of anything else comes right back up.

12. well, there is LewisLardbutt, WideLoad, and Louie Louie for Lewis.
Clark is called Whiney Cat, Basement Cat, Slick ( he is a very very black cat, and looks like an oil slick in the sun)

CatZilla is called Zillie, Zcat, Zee, SilliZillie, Zills

Lewis and Zills collectively are the Grays.

The three of them are The Boys, the Goofersons, the Doofi and the Cat Mafia

any of them may be addressed as 'dork' when I am annoyed at him/them.

our recently departed half Siamese was named Thomas. He was known as Tommy, Tommy TipToes, Mr Cat, Six (had six toes on the front feet) Ole Blue Eyes, the Old Guy and TTommy

our old Scamp was Queen Bitch of the Universe.

He was. Now you're thinking - she named a male cat Honey??!

I did indeed. He was a honey colored persian, and since I'm a woman who lives alone, I'd always say "Hi Honey, I'm home" whenever I came through the front door. I had him for 13 years and miss him terribly, especially today. I often sang "My Funny Valentine" to him.

49. Size. He was a sad, malnourished little thing when he came to me to foster.
Then he discovered cat food! The pounds just piled on! He has a slight disability in his back legs. They're misshapen. Three vets have given three theories as to why--congenital abnormality, malnutrition (basically rickets), or traumatic injury. Anyway, when his weight got to be too much, his back legs were having trouble carrying him. Really. He got that fat. Now, due to "healthy weight" cat food, exercise (gotta love the laser pointer), and scheduled feedings, he's a slimmer, though not slim, 11 pounds.

100. He's black and white and was an unneutered male for a few years. So he has
big muscles. He used to attack me so I named him Monster. He attacks much less now. He's very cuddly. Love him. He's a big male but not huge. Not terribly fat. Just my love bug.

62. not entirely proud of these...
Marcus = Merridough (I don't know why; it just comes out of my mouth)

Jillian = Jelly Bean (natch)

Nigel = Nigh Nigh

Mickey = Micksie (he's new...I will pretzel this one up eventually)

Felix = Fifi or Feewee (those are kind of embarassing, but I just can't help myself)

Also all of them are at times furry butt, furball, sweetness, love bunny.

That way they could get mad at the cat without actually swearing--they're just calling him by name.

Tiger reached that kitten age where he was mostly a tan blur racing around the house at full speed, at the time Mazda started their zoom zoom advertisements. The name has stuck, I even sing the zoom zoom tune when he is snuggin in my lap. He knows who zoomzoom is.

That's right... Digit.

I was telecommuting as a digital illustrator for a computer game company when I adopted him, so YES, I scanned him... (sans scanner cover, obviously. I was scanning all sorts of things back then, and still do). He was thoroughly nonplussed about the whole thing.

I call my son's black & white manix, (with orange calio spots) -Cadalphie, cuz, her name is Ralph. Ralphie Cadalphi. I call Bob, - Bob izacat. I sing him a Bob song, Bob izacat, Bob izacat, B-B-B-Bob izacat. It's so dumb.
