Wait a minute--Starbuck is a woman?!? When did this happen?

I haven't actually watched a whole lot of the new series, but I have to say that the frenetic, always-in-motion camera work has gotten to be tedious and tiresome. I know that it's the way they do things now, and when it's used well I don't mind it, but does it really help to have a close-up of Adama in profile, then zip down to show him wetting his hands, then zip back up again to show him dabbing his face? Used that way, the technique looks like a caricature of itself.

When it's overused, as I've begun to perceive it to be in BSG, it comes off looking like the sophomore year project of a film studies major.


Yes, yes. I'll be blasted by those who worship all things BSG and see it as the most bestest show forever and ever amen. But come on!

We actually had to walk out of that Sean Penn movie where he plays an autistic man or something like that because the constant camera movement gave me motion sickness. Same for "24." I was hoping that went out of style by now.
