The cars of the fifties and sixties
OK, all you old timers out there...... How many of these did you drive, or knew someone who did? (Or WISHED you had!)

Someone did an awesome job putting this together and with sound to boot. At the very end of the video you'll hear the song 'Ballad of Thunder Road ' sung by the star of the movie for which it was the theme! Not uncommon except this is the one and only song ever recorded, for publication, sung by Robert Mitchum!

1. Nice slide show Swede! My first car was a 1955 Bel Air 2 door.
Had the 265 V8. The lifters were so bad that I had to pull over and adjust them every hundred miles or so.

Good times! Thanks for the memory.

4. Had a '49 Buick straight 8, a '54 Olds V8, and a '68 Chevy.
I have been looking as several late 40's cars, thinking about buying one just to drive for fun, but it won't be for some time....

5. My dad still has his '55 Mercury
Mom still has her '65 Chevelle. Neither one are driveable, but we hope to try to revive them one day!
