A few years ago I was at a Howard Dean rally. I didn't have a Dean sign, but there were people there from the AFSCME. One kind woman offered me a sign that said "AFSCME for Dean!"

I responded, "I am not a member of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees."

She was so fucking impressed that I knew what it stood for that she gave me permission to hold a sign on their behalf. :headbang:
