1. These are/were the rumors:
"Tiny Dancer" written in 1971

1. A rock singer died on stage and Bernie wrote the song about/for the widow..
seamstress for the band, dancer in the sand et al..I can't find or remember who it was suppose to be
....I just remember the rumor.

2. Bernie Taupin wrote the song about, then girlfriend, soon to become wife, Maxine.

3. The song is about, how shall we say it...Little John :wow:

very good song...no matter who, what or where.

Pretty conclusive evidence for theory 2, I''d say.

It is such a wonderfully sweet and observant lyric and Elton did it proud with that gorgeous music and gloriously soulful but mellow vocal. At least then, Bernie must have loved Maxine to the ends of the earth. Ya couldn't write something that graceful and lovely if you weren't mad for the girl.
