dual core vs core 2 duo......is the latter significantly faster and better?
i need to get a replacement laptop for my current one. there are no great sales this week on core 2 duos. are they that much better than dual core processors? if so, how so?

2. so you're telling me there's no difference between a computer that has specs.....
....that say "dual core" as opposed to one that says "core 2 duo"?

3. They might have an AMD dual core processor instead of an Intel...

But Core 2 Duo is simply Intel's line of consumer dual core processors.

for example, here's what i'm thinking about:

is that a better processor than the turion 64 X2 that i have in my HP?

6. In a nutshell, if you can go for the core 2 duo, do it. It will work better than the
Core Duo. Core 2 Duo can process things faster, render graphics faster, etc.
