Okay .. here's a good computer question |
|
Or maybe it's dumb.
But what's the best way to convert a document/web page into a .pdf file?
I've googled and see some freeware and shareware, but I'm still not sure what's the best course of action.
I'm away from a printer with my laptop, but I want to save something to my flash so I can print it at Kinkos.
Thanks! :)

1. Are you using MS Word? |

If so, there's a little application you can download that will just let you save as pdf under the "Save As" menu. Going to look for a link... ETA, here's one for Office 2007, not sure if it'll work in other versions... http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=F1FC413C-6D89-4F15-991B-63B07BA5F2E5&displaylang=en

8. Be careful with Google and shareware/freeware nowadays |
|
I used to download them all the time in the late 90's. Now I go to download.com or a known Open Source site, otherwise I am very gunshy to download almost anything nowadays. I don't want malware and spyware on my machines.

11. Adobe (Acrobat) used to let you upload a doc to them and they'd convert it. |
|
There was a limit per day on how many you could do. Zamzar.com has a similar service for pdf and all kinds of other formats.

22. I love CutePDF - use it all the time |
|
During the campaign, I was mapping areas for our teams and would use CutePDF to print to PDF and email the maps out. Saved the campaign a ton of money for ink and paper.
