My Dad thought it was great that the Texas Patrol guards were let off
Not knowing enough about it I said "There are two sides two every story. And he just blew up at me. WTF?

1. Because for many people there AREN'T two sides to every story
For them, there is only one side and they will seek out the version that most closely aligns with their ideology.

In other words, if the truth is too hard for them to bear, they will pretend it doesn't exist.
