My heart hurts.
Some things you just don't get over, it seems... the best you can hope for is just to forget someday.

5. Time does not necessarily heal all wounds.
And even those that do heal, often leave behind the scar tissue to remind us.

 to your Crimson Majesty, may the reach of the shadows of your past be outstripped by joy and enlightenment.

11. That's what tripped me up today, the scar tissue.
I hardly remember anything so I'm lucky in that respect... but I remember enough.

7. Trust me time does heal all wounds and wounds all heals
I have been where you are, and I never thought it was possible to get over it. Now I can tell you, with enough time, all heart ache does heal.

8. I think the best you can hope for...
is that your heart-breaking experience will prove valuable when someone else needs compassion or good advice. It may not take the pain away, but at least the pain won't seem so senseless anymore.:hug::hug:

Here's hoping you soon experience great joy. :toast:

9. Takes a while you know?
I see an ad for a particular restaurant fairly often. Over 25 years ago I had a love who got fired for stealing steaks while working there--this prior to breaking my heart into tiny bits.

I sigh and smile.

14. Thanks...
sorry to dump on the lounge but jeez... it's like a ton of bricks at the moment.

I turn 40 this year too... don't feel much like thinking about parties though.

13. It would be nice if we came equipped with mental delete buttons.
I have some memories that I wish were in the Recycle Bin, that's for sure.

Hope tomorrow brings you a better day.

15. I've heard taking beta-blockers can dull painful memories
There's a study with propanolol which showed a lot of promise.

16. I could see where some people could benefit from something like that.
Any drug with "lol" in the name can't be that bad! :)

But even though I said I wish I could delete some memories I'm not sure I would. It's part of me now, and besides, the contrast between those dark times can actually help sometimes when looked back on. I guess I meant that I wish I could delete them until I'm in a better frame of mind.

Fascinating article. Thanks for posting it.

19. You are in my thoughts. I think I have some idea what you are feeling.
There's no answer that I know of. But I don't think it's possible to forget. The next best thing may be to make peace with the past.
