Poll question: Which TV franchise? Law And Order or CSI? |
|
I've got to go with the ancient one, Law And Order.
At least they address the issues of the day. The CSI's only try to test the borders of the medium. And I don't mean in a good way.
CSI, and offspring, exist only to find the most grotesque thing they can possibly flash on my TV screen, often when I'm eating. I know the show comes on pretty late, but I'm usually running behind.
Like I said, I like the way Law and Order addresses issues (but not as well, in my opinion, as Boston Legal). The show's creator Dick Wolf, is a well-known Republican (and with a name like that how could he not be?) but I think the stories are very fair politically.
I think that L&O is better at human drama, and that CSI is all about shock and "eww!"
(Okay, I changed it a little when I got to the actual poll part. I was trying to see if I could remember them all. And I'm not sure I did.)

1. This was a close one ... |
|
Law&Order has the plot, character development, suspense, in-depth exploration of issues, relevance, all that stuff. But CSI has superior cleavage.
Ok, maybe the vote wasn't that close.
(It's only television)
