Why did I think the word "approbation" was a negative thing? |

approbation – noun 1. approval; commendation. 2. official approval or sanction. 3. Obsolete. conclusive proof.
I always thought approbation was synonymous with condemnation, scorn, disapproval. Turns out I was exactly wrong.
