Authors, Musicians, Actors, Directors and other artists you appreciate despite being RW
Or Downright fascist

Me?

Bryan Ferry (David Bowie was actually playing HIM as the Thin White Duke)
Jon Voight
Tony Danza (to be perfectly fair, he voted for Obama, and just just a taxophobe)
Greg Kinnear
Gary Sinise
Morrisey

His politics lean Libertarian, but then lean Dem too

Despite his Conservative leanings, he's also a big Environmentalist

13. That's what I thought...
He's a bit like Chris Hitchens in that way-- his hatred/fear of Islamofascist terrorism is greater than his desire for liberty and justice. Sadly, that's a pretty common ailment.

7. Morrisey made a bunch of statements on how he "hates" Pakistanis
And never apologized for them

IN fact, in an interview right after the incident, he showed up with an English Flag T Shirt (popular among National Front types)

He also is big on "England for the English"

Bryan Ferry made a number of statements on how he thought the Nazis were great, England really needs a Strong Leader like Franco, and he's also really involved in Foxhunting - a nice way to kill off a bunch of dogs alongside the fox.

6. After they stole 2 trillion dollars of our tax money and laughed while doing it,
tortured, lied about torture, set up secret internments, rounded up any ferners they wanted to and held them without trial, wiretapped us since before 9/11, allowed 9/11, used it politically and financially, sent Anthrax letters to anyone they disliked, set up "no protest" zones, screwed with the last three elections, allowed New Orleans to be decimated and did nothing for the displaced, invaded oil-rich Iraq for oil and allowed thousands of US troops to die (and some hundred plus thousand Iraqis), allowed Blackwater, Halliburton, KBR, and other monsters to grow, created the seeming Constitutional amendment known as the "Patriot Act"...and laughed at us the entire time...I'd say that anyone still riding that bus should have it hijacked to some place where they can learn basic compassion, at minimum.

No, anyone still supporting Republicanism has a lot of 'splainin' to do. I don't care what's come before. They'll have to prove themselves quite clearly in the future.

31. They totally are. The old "noblesse oblige" types you saw pre-Thatcher
I think of Thatcher and Reagan as the cut-off for the Tories and Repubs. Both made it fashionable to be selfish, and to hate the lower class. Thankfully a lot of Tories are over the harsher parts of Thatcherism and realize that you can't deregulate the world. Maybe we'll get lucky and see that with some of our Republicans over the next few years....

At least, I like a good deal of his work from the seventies through the early eighties; back then, he was more of a Southern hippie-type, who campaigned for Carter in '76.

Today, though, he's a born-again and a wingnut; the decline in the quality of his work seemed to coincide pretty closely with this conversion.
