Clingy friend issues.
My friend insisted I go with him to a poetry slam tonight. I would have liked to go, but I really couldn't - I had no way of getting home (it's in a not-so-great neighborhood, I don't drive, and my dad couldn't pick me up), it's snowing like fuck, and I'm pretty tired.

Now he's mad at me. He's acting like a 5-year-old who's just been told he couldn't have a cookie.

It's not like we made advance plans either. He sprang this on me this morning, and I told him I likely couldn't go.

*Sigh* I don't know what to do. He's a great guy, but constantly insisting I hang out with him RIGHT FUCKING NOW!!1!!11!1

1. Friendship
I have the exact situation going on with me,in regards to a girlfriend of mine.

But in my case,I was getting the feeling she was hanging out with me,
when she had nothing better to do,whenever it was convinient for her.

So I told her how I felt, and got no response really,so I ended my friendship with her, which was very hard.

Then a week ago,I decided to give her another chance.

But this time around,I more or less do things on my terms,
because of the fact that she was too needy and clingy.

Seems she's gotten the hint, and does not call me several times
a day anymore.

Honesty in a situation like this really is the best policy.

After all,it's quite possible that your friend does not have a clue
that he/she is being overbearing.

Good luck!

Oh,and if things don't improve,I would just
totally end the friendship.

Because a real friend would not treat you like that.
