Anyone ever change a Volvo timing belt? |
|
I have this old, good-running Volvo (contains the B230 engine) I got real cheap knowing it needed a couple of seals replaced. Plan of action: buy seals, remove radiator, remove crankshaft bolt with impact wrench, change seals and timing belt.
A couple days ago I read on line: "Do NOT remove the crankshaft bolt from a B230 engine with an impact wrench because you can break your crankshaft doing that." Fuck.
Assuming you didn't have the $50 tool they sell to do this with, how would those of you who've changed a Volvo B230 timing belt lock the crank in place?
