5. Barbarian!
You just tilt the nearly empty box back and forth a few times with the tap open, kind of like when you're trying to salvage a dying toner cartridge.

Rip the box open? Criminetly! :wtf:

6. Sheesh. Don't you recyle the boxes. You have to open them to break them
down. You might as well get the last squeeze out of the inner bladder!!

:wtf:

7. Alas, we don't "recyle" cardboard here.
Everything else: glass, plastic, aluminum, newsprint -- but not cardboard. Worse still, it has to go in the big dumpster downstairs, not in the trash chute directly outside my door. :eyes:

Even if we did, ripping it apart would hardly be the way to go.

2. We get the boxed wine in 1 liter cartons
Same as the milk and half-and-half cartons, with the plastic screwcap on top. The wine tastes fine, it keeps fresh forever, and at $9 a liter, it's cheaper than $11 per 750ml glass bottle. Plus it comes in red (French and Italian) and white (French and I didn't pay that much attention :P)

4. I got through college on boxed wine and Schell's Deer Brand beer
mainly because boxed wine was cheap, and I went to college twenty miles from the Schell brewery, and their beer was cheap-- $5 for a case of 24 returnables.
