4. I got a Magic Bullet, but...
I didn't order it from teevee-- found it in a store at less than half price. It actually works very well, but not as well as in the infomercial (and why am I not surprised?)

I'm thinking of getting that pullup excercise dingus that fits in a doorway, but waiting for it to drop in price or show up in the schlock shop.

Were Debbie Meyer green bags on TV? I got some of those but I ordered them from the website (where they constantly yammered at me to get more stuff) and they don't work that well.

9. I bought a Magic Bullet at Bed Bath and Beyond
as a gift for someone a few weeks ago. The cashier said she had sold quite a few that week. I guess they're popular.

I also have some Space Bags. The smaller ones work well but the biggest ones don't seem to stay sealed.

10. I bought space bags and a different brand Magic Bullet style blender
The blender has been great. I got it at Walgreen's for $15 and it works just like the MB. The Space Bags were junk and we ended up taking them back to Wal Mart.

My 8 year old wants the pullup thing that goes in the doorway- I forget what they are called. And I'm a little concerned that my 8 year old would WANT to do pullups. Ick.

37. was the blender called Back to Basics? I LOVE that thing. I got mine at Target
and it had two large drink mixers, and a couple of smaller jars. I found one in the grocery the other day with only one container, so I know if my motor base dies, I can get another one and keep using it.

I got it originally because I enjoy Weight Watcher smoothies occasionally and it was perfect for them. Bigger beverage container than Bullet too.

There is another knock off that Macy's sells and I played with the demo model; the threads on the jars just didn't want to connect and I decided I would just be angry with it all the time.

My regular large KitchenAid Blender was just too big to drag out for a smoothie.

It's quieter than a nail clipper. You can barely hear it. It let Kamere sniff it and left it around for him to examine and then turned it on a few times so he could get bored with it. Then I did one nail at a time. Now he just sits there like he's stoned.

29. No, but I've bought a lot of nutritional supplements based on radio advertising.
There is a company that sells nutritional supplements that used to have a program on the radio, Monday through Friday, that recently stopped the program. But they hooked me. I probably waste two or three hundred dollars a month on these supplements, or worse than that, to be honest.

Because of the recession, they have drastically cut their prices, which just makes it all the more tempting for suckers like me to buy from them.

34. Another Shamwow buyer...
I'm pretty happy with them.

Also bought that Buxton organizer bag. What a piece of crap. Should have read some online reviews first. Ended up bringing it back for refund.

Swiffer wet mop. It was great until the sprayer mechanism broke. Buying the pads got expensive too. So what I do now is use a squirt bottle with water and just a bit of cleaner on my ceramic tile floors, and instead of buying the disposable pads, I made some washable ones with some of those terrycloth towel things from the Dollar store. Sewed them up into pads, attached velcro, and they work great.

Mr Pip bought me some of those "Tater mitts". OMG what a joke! They're rubber gloves with very sharp fishtank gravel bonded to them. They don't work as easily as they show on TV. And you have to cook and cool the potatoes first.

Samurai Shark knife sharpener. Pretty decent.

That's just the stuff I can remember...no doubt there's much more I've bought that I've forgotten about

My last fusion razor gave me good shaves from July 1, 2008 until Feb. 3, 2009. So it paid for itself. I am now on the 3rd week of a triple blade razor. I expect it to make it to summer. Probably used it 20 times or so so far.

Edited on Mon Feb-23-09 02:37 AM by hibbing
Hi,
I bought a Snuggie at Walgreen's mostly for the giggles, but I have snuggled up in it on the cold winter nights. Not as thick as I anticipated and the sleeves are loooooooooooooooong. Not a practical product to wear at a football game as seen in the advert. I haven't used the booklight that came with it yet. I did enjoy taking pictures of myself in the Snuggie in scenes that resembled the advert. I would recommend this product mostly for the giggles, I have no financial interest in this product.

Peace

back when it was the only thing on TV at 4 in the morning when I was feeding my then-infant child.

It was 1987. Faux pearls - especially in unnatural colors - were a big deal then.:D

That's the only time I've ever ordered anything from television.

My father-in-law bought a Time Life 70s collection from TV a couple of years ago, but I think he actually ordered it from the internet rather than calling the 800 number.

Also bought the electric broom-type thing -- it's great if you don't have pets. But if you do, the hair gets tangled up in the sweeper brushes and the whole thing stops working after a month or so.
