I don't much care anyway--never have a chance to see the movies in question. And to think only a few years ago I not only watched the Oscars religiously, but I also did a play-by-play for the Web site I worked for...my how times change...

13. Academy Awards
I'm watching the Oscars,as there is nothing else better to watch
on a Sunday night.

For starters, wasn't Whoopi Goldberg's leopard print dress
absolutely hideous? Seriously! lol

And how did Hugh Jackman get the job hosting the Oscars?

He is far from funny, and he is no Billy Crystal.

Right as I am typing this,Steve Martin is on stage, cracking me up.

Why couldn't someone like Steve Martin host the show?

Anyways, can't wait to see what will happen next.

I appreciate any and all good art, certainly including moviemaking and acting etc, but don't really care about this or any other awards show ( isn't there about one per week on TV these days?) .... taking a break from practicing the sax to check in with DU then back to practicing...

If I want to see a bunch of overpaid airhead celebs, I'll watch an NFL game.

Hey, at least it's entertaining-if you like to see 200+ lb guys knocking the
shit out of each other. Controlled violence-gotta love it! :toast:

32. Nope. Not at all.
The Oscars are like Grand Opera - splendid moments and ghastly half hours. I used to watch them, but it's always dark o'clock in the morning on the East coast before they start handing out the interesting ones.

Besides, I have no TV.

Besides, I'm sure they'll podcast the highlights later.

41. The one and only time I watched the Oscars
was 1962. My sister was home from college and insisted on watching.

I was fifteen, and I don't remember the details, but it was boring enough to keep me from ever watching again,

44. Just got in, so "no".
I'm choosing to believe that WALL•E will win best animated, and that's what matters most to me (Ledger should be a shoe-in as well). I'm happy to read the list of winners on the internet/newspaper (and bitch about anything different from my own selections). :hi:

Glad you like the Eno! You might also enjoy his Ambient with Larajji, as well as Ambient 4, "On Land", which is far less melodic but equally evocative.

47. If I could Fit in my bathtub, I'd do that, too
and before anyone sez "lose some weight!" it's kind of hard to lose two feet of height, unless you cut off my shins :P Stupid bathtub is made for either children or very tiny adults.

Are the Oscars on tonight? I wondered why Star Pizza was dead for a Sunday evening. Normally, they're as packed as every other night. I don't think I've had my TV on since Friday, and that was only to set up the DVR for BSG (which I haven't watched for two weeks in a row now...)

I guess I'll hear about it from the yakity-yakkers tomorrow at work... ;)
