3. Probably because Slumdog Millionaire was a better movie. |
|
Milk was a very nice movie. Sean Penn did an excellent job. But having seen them both within a few weeks of each other, I gotta tell you that Slumdog has stayed with me and sparked a lot more conversations.

6. Maybe, but I'd rather hate them than Indians, who are all violent psychotic savages |
|
Especially that math teacher down the hall from me. Man, never piss of an Indian.
I'm talking about Asian Indians here. Native Americans can blow me.

8. yeah, that's what i thought |
|
I thought Milk was very inspiring, great history, and Penn was excellent in the role, but Slumdog was so broad, so colorful, so vibrant and so wonderfully well done in it's exposition of poverty and resilience. That's probably why it won.

9. Milk was limited by being based on something that really happened |
|
and the events of November 1978 sparked more conversations than "Slumdog Millionaire".
how noteworthy is it when a member of the Board of Supervisors guns down the mayor and another member of the board? pretty noteworthy and 1 week after many San Franciscans and our congressman Leo Ryan were killed by Jim Jones' in Guyana.
i barely remember any of it, I was 7 when it all happened, but it was a huge moment in SF history, probably unlike anything else in any other city.

10. Wall-E was the best movie this year. |
|
Much better than that special-effects laden superhero piece of shit, the Dark Knight. Wall-E was the true snub this year. I have not seen Milk or Slumdog Millionaire so I can't say anything about those.
