Tell something about yourself that you have not already revealed here.
Edited on Tue Feb-24-09 01:14 AM by Lil Missy
Hmmmm ...

I used to be a Republican. Just because I was raised to believe I was. (Fortunately I did not vote then.) After I went to college and developed a mind of my own, I realized I was really a Democrat. Then I started voting.

Another thing, my baby sis, 16 years younger, is the only one who can tear me a new asshole and we still love each other. She's only done it twice, and I deserved it both times. I tell her I really hate it when she is right. Little bitch, LOL!

Edit to add: I also got caught shoplifting as a teen. God, if they only knew how much I got away with before that. No record of it, I was taken in and shown what a jail door sounds like when it slams shut. No charges filed, and my parents were called to come pick me up.

Cured me forever!

Most DU-ers know that I was a tank crewman in the Army. What nobody has known until now is that I was also qualified as a clerk/typist. NOT what I joined the Army for! Thank God I never drove a desk! B-)

3. I voted for Reagan in 1984.
Of course, I was 9 at the time. :)

My middle school had a mock Presidential election on election day in 1984. I come from a very conservative family, so I heard all of the adults around me saying good things about Reagan and they were always singing his praises. Therefore, he received the very first vote I ever cast for President.

I even realize these fears are absurd for the most part (I am very-allergic to bees and ants. Not just the stings and bites...the creatures themselves.), but there they are.

I used to live during school summers on my grandparent's working dairy farm so I was surrounded by these creepy-crawlers too.

64. I'll feel better after this
I hate internet surveys.

I think most people have figured that out, because I'm never tagged in one. Don't bother. If you do bother, and you're teetering on the edge of being deleted, that will be your fuck off point.

If I want to know something about you, I'll ask. Random things are random because nobody cares, and they're not really random anyway since it's just the trivial shit people choose to type about themselves.

I don't want any "Ghetto Snacks", "water balloons", "80's toys", Valentines chocolates, or any of that frilly facebook crap.

I don't know why half the people on facebook I went to high school with asked to be my friend, considering I never talked to them there either.

I hate working for a republican douchebag who's such a clumsy fuck he's actually China in a bull shop.

81. Now, back to our regularly scheduled, light-hearted lounge thread...
"...Or did you skip over that part because you like the idea of belief?"

And for just a moment, after reading merely the title of the response, I thought the question was asked out of sincerity rather than simply a good, old-fashioned back-handed compliment.

Now... assuming for just a moment your question was actually sincere, I could give you a wonderful reading list of authors and books that have led me to where I am today. Authors that will express my own sentiments much more eloquently, concisely and efficiently than I ever could.

But I have some doubts that's what you're actually fishing for.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled, light-hearted lounge thread...

82. I asked because I wanted to know.
Obviously I'm skeptical. And I know for a fact that many arguments in suspport of religion tend to gloss over the whole question of existence and focus on the purported benefits.

If you don't want to answer, that is your perogative.

And I am not asking for a list. One author is enough if s/he's right.

86. thumbnails rarely do justice to a person's beliefs.
"One author is enough if s/he's right."
Albert Schweitzer; Civilization and Ethics (1923)

However one will never know either way if a person is right or wrong on the matters of religion or philosophies or any other man-made constructs. We all simply rely on trust in that in which we do not have full knowledge (faith)-- something we apply to all facets of our life everyday.

Who knows which philosophies or religions are "right"? Certainly not me.

Jeez-- it's not that I don't want to answer, but the question is so broad as to be almost unanswerable in one post, and thumbnails rarely do justice to a person's beliefs.

90. He brought it up.
I'm just asking. Why is that so wrong? I didn't mean any offense and if just asking is offensive you might want to ask yourself why you find it so.

'Gotcha' questions are a popular hobby these days-- yet very entertaining when a sacred cow decides it wants a nice steak dinner too... :)

Edited on Wed Feb-25-09 11:12 AM by Deep13
That has nothing to do with smegma. Obviously, you know that. And my earlier question was made in good faith curiosity, not sarcasm. I hold my convictions as dearly as you hold yours, so stop pretending that I'm some kind of robot who is just out to piss people off.

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any cure for it. The doc told me that the anti-fungal pills can cause liver damage which is SLIGHTLY worse than fungus. So, I begged off. I don't see why they can't just remove the nail.

People here know most of my significant characteristics. They already know I'm fat, skeptical, a lawyer, married, from MA, living in OH. Nothing else came to mind.
