By "token," I mean that the Scot or Aussie is added for no reason that has any real justification within the framework of the existing story; it is, instead, simply a chance to get a person with an accent into the cast.

We and our Kiwi friends have a good humoured rivalry, but nothing more. Hatred? God, half of New Zealand lives in Australia. And as for a taboo between us and them dating...no way.
