What's your favorite mid-afternoon snack?

(Bonus points if it's something weird that you invented.)

I ask because I'm about to make a bowl of Buffalo Edamame -- that would be edamame with Frank's buffalo sauce. :9

I also eat a lot of Triscuits with cottage cheese. :D

It occurred to me because I was craving buffalo sauce and needed a vehicle... LOL... but now I make it all the time. Only problem is it's kind of messy to eat, if you get the unshelled edamame.

Let me know if you try it. :D

25. Since you like cottage cheese, have you ever made dressing with it?
Make it like Ranch dressing with lite mayo and red wine vinegar with Ranch dressing mix. Or you can use Good Seasonings Italian Dressing mix instead, with the lite mayo and red wine vinegar.

It's a yummy dip for Triscuits or raw vegetables. My favorite is to put it on pita sandwiches, stuffed with stirfried veggies and the dressing on top.

When I was in Austria as an exchange student in 1993, I got sick for a couple of days and yellow apples was all they had. I felt better after eating them and have been my favorite ever since.

29. Okay, I gotta say it....edamame in buffalo sauce does not sound appealing to me.
And I'm veg*n.

I like pickles. Honestly. The big kosher dills. I keep a jar in the office fridge. Along with a carton of chocolate soymilk. Sometimes I drink it cold, sometimes I heat it up. But my afternoon snack is usually a pickle and/or chocolate Silk.

34. I'm a little weird -- but I have cravings for spicy food

I would say that's my most frequent craving, and I have to have something with buffalo sauce, or Sriracha, or some kind of hot curry... it's odd.

And actually, instead of pickles, I'll often get the jar of spicy pepperocini peppers, come to think of it...

But I love love love chocolate Silk, holy cow that stuff is like crack! :)

As to spicy foods--I seem to have what my dad calls a "German stomach". Anything spicier than (Boca) bratwurst and I'm in the john for hours.

64. used to be a Snickers bar and a diet Coke - when I was younger
:D My summer internship bored me to tears, and I needed a sugar/caffeine kick to keep my eyes awake.

Often it'll be something sweet combined with a cup of coffee now .. same sugar/caffeine kick, but I don't like junk food that much anymore. An ex boyfriend used to get small flour tortillas, warm them over the gas burner (so they got a little toasty) and then would spread some creamy peanut butter and sugar on the tortilla, roll it up and voila! Instant yumminess, with gooey warm peanut butter sweetened by sugar. It's a good, quick pick-me-up and tastes great if you also have a fresh cup of coffee or tea.
