Calling all cooks: any suggestions with frozen grilled chicken strips?
Purchased a package at Trader Joe's, thought I can use them instead of my regular grilled (or broiled) chicken breasts. Except, the ones that I prepare are more flavorful. I brush them with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper and whatever herbs are around. The ones from Trader Joe's are just... plain.

So... how would you use them?

Thanks.

3. Use 'em the same way?
Thaw and oil, sprinkle with s&p and whatever herbs are around.
Grill.
Sounds good.
Or...you could do a stir fry if you have the other stuff to go in one.

7. Good idea. They already are grilled
but I suppose heating them a bit with oil and spices could work.

Thanks.

5. Quesadillas
Lots of peppers, onions and cheese melted inside two toasty tortillas!

It's what I'm making for dinner tonight.

12. Funny. No, they were grilled by the packer and then frozen
They are really ready to eat but, as I posted, lack any flavor.

11. It ALWAYS starts with good quality olive oil.
Add a bunch of minced or even mashed fresh garlic and lots of fresh basil, toss in the chicken and saute off quickly. Works very well when tossed with pasta and a lot of grated cheese--especially Romano, Asiago and Parmesan...

You just can't ever screw up pasta. It can't be done.

But it has to be leftover rice, fresh rice won't work.

14. That's exactly what I made tonight with leftover chicken
Saute some onion and garlic in olive oil, add a little butter, throw in the chicken and a some broth or white wine, salt, pepper, oregano. Throw the cooked pasta into the pot to absorb the sauce. Serve with parmesan. I make this all the time with vegetables instead of chicken. Spinach is the best. Broccoli, eggplant, delish and CHEAP.

18. Make it tomorrow!
The best thing is it's a pantry dish plus one fresh vegetable. Everything else you probably have in the house already. If you want to make it real pantry, make a marinara - instead of fresh vegetables add canned squished tomatoes to the garlic/onion/olive oil mix. Add some herbs. Mmmm.
