2. Orbitz and Expedia
though I usually fly Southwest. I've also heard that fly.com is good, though I've never used it.

6. Cheap?
If I never hear the word again as long as I live
it wouldn't be soon enough.

Now that I've gotten that out of my system,
you might try kayak.com

:hi:

14. KW
Now that I've eaten dinner, I feel a little more civil. Sorry about that.

When I searched fares in your market, Frontier usually came up as the least expensive.

Keep in mind, though, if they go bankrupt (again) you may find yourself with few options.

In other words, you also get what you pay for.

Good luck. Hope you get to fly to MSP soon! :hi:

12. Airline web sites.
They usually have the best deals and you can get a better idea whether there are extra fees and what they are.

16. me too
I look at ALL the sites and usually find better fares at the airlines site rather than Orbitz, Priceline, etc.

Last week I got an $89 fare from San Francisco to Chicago on American. It's costing me about $200 rt.

13. I often start with Farecast.com - and then spread out from there...
Farecast has the nifty thing of giving me an idea of whether prices are going up or down for a specific date. However it only works for popular routes: not that many people fly from GSO to LGW.

If I am really flexible about the times of the flight and don't care about the airline, yes I will give Hotwire and even Priceline a try. I netted a good deal some years ago: 3x round trip tickets from CLT to LGW for $750. For 3 tickets. Back in 2002.

If I need more specific dates/times then after checking Farecast I then go to the individual airline sites that gave me the lowest prices and go from there.

Of course with airlines like Southwest, JetBlue and AirTran, I have to go direct to their site anyway.

Mark.
