Good morning Lounge
How are you today?

So today the public transportation is on strike. No underground, no tram, barely a bus. Fortunately to trains are running. So I had to find the nearest train station to get to work. It took me a bit longer than usual but I actually made it to work. My conscience is too nice to say "I stay home even though I have a bunch of work". Sometimes I hate my conscience

2. Good morning, MissHoney!
Beautiful pic! I just bought an orchid that will look like this when it blooms:

That sucks about the transportation strike. Not that I'm anti-union or anything; I'm not. But it does create extra hurdles to jump over in order to get somewhere, doesn't it?

Well, the blossoms will be yellow, with fuscia colored tips. Can't wait until they bloom!

And hopefully, the strike will be over VERY soon!

They look beautiful

Monday I saw the first green of early bloomers. It was a good sight. Can't wait for them to bloom.
When I was in TN last year and we went to Grandfather Mountain I saw a flower that I really liked. It was called something with three because it had three parts of the blossom.

13. I'm ashamed to tell you that
I once got on the wrong bus and ended up right on the Italian border (just a few steps from the border patrol station). I had taken the bus to the little town down-mountain from us, and accidentally got on the wrong bus. Fortunately, it the bus driver's last route for the day, so he brought me back to Switzerland in his own car. I'm very, very, very glad I didn't have to get a taxi for that. :yoiks:

I have a meeting with my manager today (he is new) to show him exactly what it is that I do all day. It should be interesting. He barely knows the databases we are working with and I find mistakes he has made often. I think I will just mention procedures that he messes up and hope he gets the message ;)

Nah ... I wouldn't talk fast. But I would have a glass of water handy! Once when I had to give a presentation, my mouth went totally dry and my lips kept sticking to my teeth. And they were videotaping it! Of course, no one bothered to offer me some water and I was too nervous to ask. Talk about embarrassing!

Well, I didn't think it was so funny at the time. Normally, my manager wouldn't let me travel (I was a critical skill ... couldn't risk a plane crash). But he was out of town and another manager told me to go. So NEXT time, my manager was there and wouldn't let me go. They said, no problem, they'll use the videotape. So I said, NO WAY and begged the guy who went with me the first time to do my presentation. He agreed and I don't think anyone ever saw that videotape. At least I HOPE no one saw it. I'd die of embarrassment if I saw it. I'm sure of it!

40. Good Afternoon, MissHoneychurch!
Do transportation strikes happen often? It must be difficult to deal with.

Last night as I was getting into bed I had a major worry-fest about everything I have to do before my party on Saturday. Once I started worrying about that, it was only a little leap to worrying about the amount of work I have to do for my next class, and then it moved on to worrying about the paper I have to write - which isn't due for 2 1/2 weeks! Really, it got silly after awhile.
