3. Yep. Sux.
But I don't mind it as much as I mind being called "sir."

Now, it would be interesting if someone asked, "are you pregnant, sir?"

4. I was in a hospital elevator
and there were a couple of women going on and on about their pregnancies. I was wearing a cute little jumper but I was pretty thin then and one of them asked me when I was due... I told her I wasn't pregnant. I never wore that outfit again even though I really liked it~!

7. Yes.
Dave Barry's advice was, don't ever assume a woman is pregnant unless you see the baby coming out. :-)

17. I've bought a couple of tops on sale
and then noticed when I got home that they were maternity. I didn't return them- they looked pretty and comfortable, and they are!

15. Our neighbor's little daughter
She was four at the time. Her mom is a tri-athlete, so she's not used to fat people. ;-) I was walking through our neighborhood several years ago, and Amanda skipped up to me, took my hand, and nodded towards my belly: "Do you have a baby in there?"

"No, sweetie, I don't." We had a nice conversation about how bodies are different, then we talked a little about how much she wanted a brother or sister.

Her parents adopted her sister about a year later. I still smile when I remember the conversation ;-).

21. I wasn't upset
I knew that she probably saw any woman with a belly and thought "she must be having a baby"!

We were thrilled to learn her parents adopted a beautiful baby girl shortly after that. ;-)

18. The humorist Dave Barry had a great line....
"Never ask a woman if she is pregnant unless you actually see a baby coming out of her."

20. A friend of mine had already delivered her baby
and the priest came in to see her. She was calmly propped up in bed, tired but happy. The priest asked her how the labor was going... which she thought was pretty funny. She told him, "if I were in labor, I wouldn't be talking to you".

23. No, but people have asked if my brother was mine.
He is 6. I am 18.
I would have been 11 when I got pregnant. And, I look quite a bit younger than I am.

24. My sister-in-law SWEARS this is a true story....
She was getting undressed in front of her
oldest daughter while she was pregnant, and
her daughter said "Mommy, you're FAT".

She told her that it was not fat, that she
knew Mommy was "pregnant" which meant that
there was a baby growing inside her stomach,
and that that made her "look fat".

She claims that her daughter then said:
"I know about the baby in your tummy, but
WHAT'S IN YOUR BUTT?"

26. No, but I did ask someone once. It was a "requirement" for our job.
I was 16-17 yrs old and worked in an infant and childrens department, selling clothing and baby furniture and our boss told to push a contest to expectant Mom's. I made the mistake of asking a woman who was wearing what looked like a maternity outfit if she wanted to fill out an entry for expectant moms to win diaper service. She let me know in no uncertain terms she was not expecting. I felt really stupid. I never asked anyone again.
