I demand only three things of my kitchen-grade plastic wrap |
|
Edited on Thu Feb-26-09 06:39 PM by Orrex
1. It unrolls from the roll when needed 2. The serrated cutting edge on the box must the plastic wrap 3. The plastic wrap must cling to the item being wrapped
Saran "Premium" does none of these.
Fail!
You might have other off-label uses for this product, and I invite you to start your own thread for those discussions.

1. You need to switch to Reynolds "Plutonium Containment-Grade" plastic wrap |
|
That "kitchen-grade" stuff is worthless.

Incidentally, the blade on the Saran Wrap box can cut nothing but fingertips, which it will neatly slice to the bone.

Quasi-adonis though I am, I still don't have the confidence to wear a Saran Wrap suit.

Plastic wrap sticks inextricably to one thing and one thing only: itself.

Just used the last of the first box I bought - 6 years ago. You can even wash and reuse the pieces (if you're terribly A/R, as I can be on occasion . . .)

I just use Ziplock bags. You can put everything in a Ziplock freezer bag including soup, spaghetti, and chili.
Fuck a damn roll of clingy plastic that only clings to you and the damn box, but not the food. Whoever invented that shit should be hunted down, water boarded, and forced to use his own product for the rest of his life.

18. At a life drawing class, we once wrapped the model in plastic wrap |
|
She was a real trooper about it. She lasted about 30 minutes before she had to shed the plastic. It was a hot summer night- but the resulting drawings were some of our best.
Great use for the stuff.

21. I expect my plastic wrap to be able to carry on an intelligent conversation about current events |
|
Some brands do that, some don't
I also want my dental filings to receive broadcasts from Mars, but I can't buy dental filings by brand

22. Now that you mention it, Saran Premium is quite witty after a few drinks |
|
But I can't help you re: fillings, unless you want to hear me mock anti-amalgam hysteria on behalf of Big Dentistry, since I'm a paid shill.

|
Right now, though, I just keep a can of aerosol varnish in the kitchen, and I spray whatever food I need to keep for tomorrow.
