I'm making fudge and caramels to take to a pot luck this weekend. The caramel is on the stove right now, depending on how long that takes I might make the fudge tomorrow morning.
I made three batches of fudge earlier this week (for somebody's birthday and for a care package) and divided those into plain, mint and peanutbutter. I think I'll repeat all of those and do some with nuts as well.
I like making candy. It's more of a challenge than typical cooking, because things don't come out unless you are precise with the measurements and cooking times. Plus people tend to be really impressed by it, compared even to really great baked goods or cooking from scratch, which is nice.
