Yahoo Mail's search function becoming useless? |
|
For those who use Yahoo mail - are you having problems with the search function?
I noticed some time ago that it only searched back to about a year, so it wouldn't find messages that I knew were in the backlog, way-back-when. Annoying, but not as inconvenient as the newest glitch - now it seems to no longer find stuff that came in during the last week or so! That makes it majorly inconvenient to find my eBay buyers and let them know their package has shipped. I get a lot of e-mail, so that's not as petty as it sounds; if I had to manually search through 3 or 4 pages to find every person I need to reply to, I'd never get anything else done.
What's with Yahoo's lousy service? Is it a function of my having literally tens of thousands of old messages stored (they did offer unlimited mail storage, after all!), or are other people having the same problem?

Anyone else having the same problem, or is it just my "special touch" with computers?

3. Do you use Outlook by chance? |

If so, there's a cool add-in called Xobni which does a kick-mule job of indexing your messages for later searches.

4. I don't. Just plain Yahoo mail. |

And while one could say that you get what you pay for (it's free), it really should do the job it claims it will do. Why have the search function if it doesn't work right?
