14. ID,Ego Superego

They are easily confused. The ID is the backwards, me me me, societal ignorant part of you. The Superego is the part that is socialized and deals with the expectations people have as to how you should act. The Ego negotiates between the two to determine what action you will take. Depending on which of the two, the Id or Superego is more developed, the solution your Ego arrives at will reflect which is "stronger". Psychopaths ( in the true, Anit-social Personality Disorder,) are almost pure Id, while those involved in altruistic professions ( clergy, social workers, etc.) tend to have to have a much more developed superego. 6. At the Body Leadership Convention

So here's the story behind the poll.

There once was a Body Leadership Convention where all the parts of the body met to elect a new leader.

The Heart nominated itself as Boss.

- The Heart pumps blood to all the organs. Without me, you would surely die. I should be Boss.

But the Stomach nominated itself as Boss also.

- The Stomach provides nourishment to all the organs, including the heart. Without me, you would surely die. I should be Boss.

Then the Muscles nominated themselves as Boss.

- We move the body, catch the prey, and devour it so that the Stomach can provide nourishment to all the organs, including the heart. Without us, you would surely die. We should be Boss.

Then the Brain nominated itself as Boss.

- The Brain schemes and plans. I figure out where the prey is so that the muscles can catch the prey, and devour it so that the Stomach can provide nourishment to all the organs, including the heart. Without me, you would surely die. I should be Boss.

Then the Asshole nominated itself as Boss.

- I want to be the Boss, said the Asshole.

The convention erupted in furor. YOU? The Asshole want to be Boss? What do you do? Nothing but shit jobs. This is ridiculous! STFU and sit down, asshole!

So the asshole took offense, went on strike, and clamped shut.

After a few days of asshole strike, the heart started racing from all the poisons in the blood, The stomach started throwing up because there was no place for the food waste to go, the muscles became weak and powerless from lack of nourishment, and the brain became delirious from lack of food and poisons in the blood.

On the third day, the organs relented.

- Okay, asshole, if you want to be the boss you can be the boss. We don't care anymore. Just do the shit jobs, for Chrissake!

So the Asshole became Boss, un-clamped, and the body recovered.


















The moral of this story is:
















You don't need heart, or guts, or brawn, or brains to be the boss.
