I am trying to start the DU of California Birding
Edited on Mon Mar-30-09 12:56 AM by XemaSab
I want a site where everyone can go, share, collaborate, and be themselves.

I'm all visionary like that.

http://californiabirding.net/index.php

:D

If anyone has anything to share, or just wants to raise hell in the lounge, feel happy to join.

1. This is a very cool idea, but ya know what I'd really like?
I'd like to find a website for birds that's like www.whatsthatbug.com . I consider you and Maestro repositories of bird knowledge, but I can't bother you guys every time I want to identify a bird. x(

5. Thank you, thank you!
I've added it to my bookmarks. Is it okay if they're not California birds? Cuz I don't see many unidentified California birds around here. x(

I have a history of doing this, alas...

Congrats on your beautiful new site!

12. I proposed your site for inclusion in a list of blogs at a friends site,
http://birdstuff.blogspot.com/2008/12/north-american-bird-blogs.html This from his bio:
John L. Trapp
Location: Buchanan, Michigan, United States

My fascination with birds dates to earliest childhood. Entries in my high school senior yearbook profess my interest in ornithology. Birds and their conservation were the focus of a 33-year career as a professional wildlife biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service that took me from the westernmost Aleutian Islands to the political intrigue of Washington, D.C. In retirement, birds remain my constant obsession.

and dumb questions about Swiss birds are what I'm most likely to contribute. :P
