Ok, I'm going to have to sell my house for one that is all on one floor |
|
Yes, I feel down the steps AGAIN.
Don't wear those soft fluffy socks while walking down wooden steps while holding 17lbs of fur. Normally I hold onto railing when I walk down steps but I was carrying Abbott downstairs. So when I went down - well it had to be traumatic for the cat too. Thank goodness for my ass because it took the hit on the floor. Mind you I now have a giant horizontal stripe bruise across my ass.

1. My Step-Father and Mother lives in a house with a LONG staircase going downstairs |
|
to the living area. My Step-Father took very ill and couldn't go up/down the stairs anymore. So they got one of those lifts that you sit on and it zips him up and down the stairs no problem. He loves it!! My Mother even uses it to haul groceries..lol

4. I've taken a ride down my stairs on my butt many times. |
|
Usually I step on the bottom of my pj pants or slide off the edge of a stair. Lucky for me I have carpeted stairs.

I refuse to relocate anywhere that has a 2nd floor! I've looked (on-line) at some beautiful tutor and contemporary homes. I love your upstairs but I honestly couldn't live there without a chair lift. http://www.buyastairlift.com/sterling/stairlift_2000.htm

14. Well eventually I'm going to put a bathroom on the 1st floor |
|
I figured one day when I get really old, I'll have my house setup that I could live entirely on the first floor if I had to

17. Do it now, before you need it. |
|
Make it COMPLETELY handicap accessible - lower switches, high toilet, grab bars, open shower, etc. You will be really really glad and you will have the time to get competing estimates, referrals, etc. without being under the gun because it's something you have to do right away.
I think an accessible bathroom on the first floor is a great investment for any house.

Why are you walking down your stairs with 17 lbs of potential furry destruction in your arms? :hide:

and was being nice by bringing Abbott to him. The man had just grouted my tub - the least I could do is give him a cat to hold
