The tornado sirens just started going off in Columbus. |
|
I've never heard them before other than testing.

3. No, no basement, but plenty of inside closet. |

It looks like it's hitting to the east of where we are, but wow. I'm used to hearing the sirens in Texas, not in Ohio!

2. I'm in Powell right now, didn't hear them |

I've been in Ohio almost 10 years now and worrying about "weather" still weirds me out. I grew up in NE NJ, weather might get to be annoying but never worrying.

I live off Smokey Row, so I'm not too far from you. I'm surprised you can't hear them.
I lived in Texas where if the sirens go off, you better find shelter now. This is definitely weird.
Stay safe. :hi:

but it's past us already. I grew up in central ohio; tornado sirens don't make me do more than glance out the window, maybe turn on the news.
Probably a bad thing to be habituated to, but meh

9. Yeah, growing up in Tornado Alley makes one cautious. |

My husband lived through the April 1979 tornado in Wichita Falls, Texas. So, he's really serious about being safe.

The tornodo sirens are very close to my house. And here in Cherokee County, GA, whenever there are bad thunderstorms, those things start blaring. Scares me terribly, since I live in a mobile home with nowhere to take shelter.

I've seen enough from living in Texas to know that mobile homes are a weird tornado magnet. If there is a tornado in the area, it seems to find the mobile homes.
