I am trying to think of what you are going to make, frosting would ruin the convolutions. Maybe red velvet cake? Really what are your plans?

2. it was going to be pound cake with a thin poured fondant which is more like a glaze

probably tinted pink. The party isn't going to happen though, but I will still enjoy the pan.

I had thought of chocolate cake with powdered sugar dusted on it too

The pan came with a recipe for a raspberry swirl cake that sounds very nice.
