I adopted a new cat!
She is six years old and a lovely brown tabby. I'll post some pics when she settles in.

Right now she's on a windowsill meowing at the neighbor's dog. :D The people at the shelter said she used to have other pets in her house (her previous human passed away), but she's going to be my only pet. I hope she won't be too lonely. :(

7. Angel
She has a weight problem, but is otherwise healthy. I'm reading up on how to handle her weight so she doesn't develop other issues related to that.

3. She'll have you
Cats are profoundly tolerant of their human companions, even to the point of enjoying their company. Bless you for allowing her to choose you. ;-)

16. I feel like she did choose
She was in a "community room" with a few other cats at the shelter, and when I sat down, she jumped in my lap. :) She's very cuddly and friendly.

14. She is a lot more talkative than my last cat
I don't know if this is her usual self or if she's just meowing a lot because of the move. I hope she's not too stressed out.

6. Here is her shelter pic from Petfinder

Her name is Angel. :) This was the name her other owner gave her-I'm not going to change it. It suits her. :)

9. Her eyes look sad
I imagine she'll brighten up once she's with you a couple of days and knows it's home.
It'll be interesting to compare a later photo with this photo taken at the shelter.

12. Bless you, fellow feline fancier!
Here's to a long feline-human companionship!

:toast:

As far as her being lonely, no problem. Cats are extremely
adaptable. Mine is an "only child" and she does just fine!

On behalf of her, thank you!

18. Thanks
My last cat (my only other pet ever) was also on her own, but that was from the time she was a kitten. Angel seems pretty adaptable, but it must be weird to go from a home with other cats to a big shelter to a house without any other animals. I hope she doesn't get too bored when I'm at work.

19. Kittens are cute, but older cats
are so appreciative when they're adopted. I've had Max (now about 12) for almost four years. He'd been with a foster for almost a year when I called about him and she told me I was the first person to ask about him. We've been happily together ever since.

Bless you for adopting an older kitty!

27. Kind of you to pick an older girl.
They're often unadoptable because lots of people want kittens.

Any adoption is good, but you get extra pts!

:applause:
