Ever feel like this at work?
Got humiliated in a meeting... and it was in front of a large group.

My question was a valid one.

After the meeting, I looked up the information, & I was correct..

although my co-workers won't know that.

I think I'm going to stop asking questions in meetings.

1. Yes, I have!
It is inappropriate for a superior to behave that way and does not promote team work. I felt humiliated for days, thought about making a big stink, but thought I would not be able to do it successfully, and thought the better of it. Eventually, I forgot about the pain, and tried to learn from the mistake to learn to treat others better myself, and I was able to comfort a co-worker who was a victim of the same boss I was. I hope you feel better soon and don't dwell on the embarrassment for as long as I did. Obsession isn't helpful, but that is the way my brain handles embarrassment.

but took the coward's way out in my email...telling the person I just wanted to be sure other employees knew, etc.

I'm not sure which bothers me more now... the humiliation caused by that person or the one I caused myself not taking a stronger stance. :-(

8. You are not the asshole in this scenerio
it's the idiot who was wrong and then went on to try and humilate you. That is the only villian in this story.

5. This is why I enjoy working in manufacturing rather than the hospitality sector.
The parts we make either fit or they don't.

I feel for you, and hope you fare better in subsequent meetings.

:hi:

7. I would ask one more question at the next meeting, at least
to the co-worker that humilated you. Some thing along the lines of how could they be such a dumb ass. Don't you know that.....

9. Our management is like that
I recently joined the company where I'm at but I heard that when there isn't a recession going on they lose about five people a week out of forty. Now they're really enjoying making people's lives miserable and daring them to quit. They also wonder why they're losing contracts left and right to our competitors but their main priority is making double standards, talking down to people and contradicting themselves.

10. I feel your pain. Are the higher-up(s) insecure people?

It's rough to work for an insecure person.

Hope you get over it. Work sux, often.
