Hey Ptah!
Where are the fires? We are choking in smoke this evening. I read there was a small one on the west side of the Dragoons (Slavin) and another south of Wilcox but this seems like an awful lot of smoke for a few acres. Is this coming from New Mexico or Baboquiviri? (I'm sure I spelled that wrong)

3. Huge wildfire burning southwest of Tucson
http://www.kvoa.com/Global/story.asp?S=10531250&nav=menu216_17_4_12

The Elk Horn fire raging 50 miles southwest of Tucson has grown to 17,000 acres near the Baboquivari Peak Wilderness area.

Smoke billowing on the high peaks can be seen for miles. The Arizona State Forestry Division says the fire is currently 35% contained and is expected to burn for the next several days.

They say in addition to high winds the biggest challenge is getting firecrews to the fire through steep and rugged terrain.

Staging 17 miles south of Three Points, firefighters run a constant supply of water and supplies up the mountain.

9. thanks - all ok here, just smokey
and that big one mentioned above is up in rugged hills/mountains

fires are pretty normal for June around these parts - I swear the smoke is what brings the rain, heh heh.

10. It reminds me how insignificant we are. That fire is about 110 miles from you.
