WTF is the matter with Fender? Can anyone help my musician friend? |
|
Mark is a musician friend of mine trying to get a replacement part for his beloved guitar and Fender won't respond. It's just a damn $12 part! http://markmarshall.com/blog/?p=182Anyone got any ideas?

1. Is it the kind of thing |
|
he could get on eBay?
No, I guess it's not.
I wonder if Fender is facing bankruptcy?
If I were in his place, I'd be calling Fender every day, every damn day......................

3. Try the Stratocaster owner's forum here: |
|
www.strat-talk.com/
I'm sure someone has some information and probably a source for the part - I love my 18 year old Mexican Stratocaster, but I'm not even sure who owns Fender now or what their customer service is usually like.
As a last resort, try one of the parts suppliers like All Parts:
www.allparts.com
There are several others - Google Stratocaster Floyd Rose bridge parts.
Good luck.

They sell individual saddles, but I don't know if any of these is the part he's looking for: http://www.guitarpartsdepot.com/Parts-Floyd_Rose_Saddles.htmlEdit: Here's another source. Their selection is much more extensive: http://www.guitarnucleus.com/gnstore/tremolo.html#floyd

8. My husband's Strat developed a bent neck recently |
|
and it was still under warranty- he had no trouble getting Fender to pay for the repair.
He went through a Fender-affiliated guitar repair store- maybe that's the trick.

9. THANKS everyone for EXCELLENT responses/suggestons. You might be right re:Fender-affiliated store |
|
He contacted AllParts and is waiting to hear back. Apparently they have a relationship with Fender so maybe that'll get him somewhere.
I'm going to send him all the other info everyone posted too - just in case.
THANKS EVERYONE!
