Kansas City Royals to hold open tryouts at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington

The Kansas City Royals will hold an open tryout at Frawley Stadium on July 18.

Players can register from 8 to 8:45 that morning. The tryout begins at 9.

6. i tried out for them years ago
along with the Reds and maybe the Marlins(?)...Several MLB teams used to come here every summer...

you can bet every local kid into baseball will come and see how they stack up against other hopefuls (and get an evaluation from
a REAL MLB talent scout)

But these "tryouts" (could be laziness from the paper, because back when i was doing it, teams were very careful to call them "talent searches") may reveal five out of the 200 kids probably tested with the ability to even play AA...I know the scouts just LOVE sitting in the summer heat and watching a bunch of kids with maybe one year of varsity under their belt...
