2. both used the West Wing to jump into the mainstrream consciousness
both kinda jumped around from minor role to minor role, then they landed the west wing and earned major roles as a result.

5. mary louise parker was a well respected actress long before
west wing - her role in Fried Green Tomatoes is what put gave her that jump start to the screen. She won a Tony, she is best known for her Broadway roles.

3. I'd say Lisa wins that one by default then
House is on FOX, Weeds is on Showtime. Obviously a quasi-network is going to have a wider audience than a premium cable channel. Haven't seen Weeds yet actually, but the premise of the show seems interesting enough.

The last couple of seasons have been too whiney and dramatic for me.

And who did Lisa Edelstein play on West Wing again?

9. If you're going to include Lisa Edelstein and Jorga Fox,
then Emily Proctor should also be mentioned. She's done VERY well in CSI: Miami
