OMG, my son is now officially DRIVING!!
He just got picked up for his very first behind-the-wheel driver's ed lesson.

I knew this day was coming, but now that it's finally here, I'm feeling a bit emotional.

He's growing up so fast! It's bittersweet.

It probably doesn't help that I'm PMS-y.

Hold me.

Our little bird is leaving the nest.

1. He's in good hands if he's with a driver's ed instructor.
I know, that doesn't address the real issue, which is that your baby is testing his wings.

3. my only child
Has been driving for 3 yrs. Doing the permit thing was a nightmare for me scared me to death!!
But the day she got her license and drove away alone I closed my eyes went in the house and tried to make busy, fearing I'd hear a crash in about 2 min. She did fine but it was hard letting her go, college was even worse, I cried for 2 yrs BEFORE she left. Sometimes all you can do is leave it up to the gods ( i don't believe but someone must be watching over them)

5. My mom always said she felt 2 kids were enough... until we hit high school and she
could see the empty nest coming. :) I know it will be the same for me down the road. My kids are 23 months apart so the empty nest thing will only take 2 years to complete. (Although I keep telling them they need to live at home and commute for their college classes in order to save money, so I may sorta still have them for a while after H.S.)
